As the co-inventor of AEM's groundbreaking SolarTechTRU, Koelsch will discuss how AEM, PLM, and CARB are helping reefer fleets in the cold chain industry achieve zero emissions without breaking the bank. The California Clean Off Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE) has been awarding zero emissions vouchers to AEM since 2020.

In addition to the vouchers available through the CARB CORE carbon reduction incentives that AEM has been awarded, leasing terms, and ongoing WAIRE and ESG credits available to its customers, AEM has enabled fleets of refrigerated trailers and refrigerated trucks to go green without breaking the bank. AEM has validated its TRU to be able to deliver over 8 million miles on-the-road, over 1 million hours of proven reliability & safety, and over 1.5 million safe plugins.

The units operate with solar panels, lithium batteries and a proprietary wheel generator. AEM’s Zero Emission TRUs are the only California state approved refrigerated units for multi and single temperature units, with over a decade of successful road test safety and reliability data behind it.
